And if Microsoft Courier was the best for eReader applications ? http://bit.ly/bcRdEA #ePaper #Courier #Microsoft #iPad
It has been more than 2 months now that I'have been looking at eReaders. After the iPad, it's now the turn of Microsoft to show off a model called the Courier.
if we want to maximize the usefulness of an eReader like a Tablet, it needs to support the largest number of applications. Let's have a look at the major options :
On the same line, there would be Linux based Tablets, but they don't have so many ready to go applications. For instance OpenOffice is still lagging a bit behind MS Office (personal opinion, of course). MS Windows based tablets would nevertheless still to face some challenges:

eBooks : With or without DRMs ? 4 possible scenarios http://bit.ly/bmPzXY #ePaper #eBook #DRM
Last week, for eBouquin.fr there was a debate on eBooks and DRMs. I wrote a text in French called : Scénarios de Stratégies DRM. I have now translated it in English. The principle is the following : If writers can choose to publish their eBooks with or without DRMs and if readers can accept or refuse DRMs, there are 4 possible combinations ::

February 2010You might know I have taken one year of sabbatical leave. Already 2 months have passed. I have used that time to deep-dive into the ePaper / eReaders market and trends. You can see the websites I have visited and tagged on Delicious (http://delicious.com/appepaper). On appepaper.com I listed some ePaper readers and some applications of ePaper. I have prepared some presentations about ePaper : 30+Ways to use a eReader and also one about ePaper Applications. I have written my first "paper" about Digital Rights Management. After this phase of investigation and preparation, I'm now ready to go out and chase "ePaper" projects. Next week I start a phase of prospection which aims at measuring the BeNeLux eReading market potential. Of course I did also take some free time, especially I did quiet some sport (Biking alone and with friends, Foot with Thomas, Running and WII Active). Unfortunately for the biking the snow conditions, the rain and low temperature didn't help to do a lot of KM. I'm now looking forward to the spring season which will make sport much more enjoyable. Mon analyse des DRMs pour eBouqin.fr http://bit.ly/b9Aeyw
[For those who don't read french, don't worry I'll translate this ASAP.]
